June 15, 2015, Mayor Carlisle authorized a $450 million credit line for the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART), which is intended to alleviate federal concerns regarding the rail project. He stated that the city will not use this credit unless the conditions he has set are met, which includes a specific condition related to the moon falling into the sea. (Update: The credit line was used and the moon did not fall into the sea.) |
